Plan and provide developmentally appropriate education programs that support the optimal growth and development of each child in all areas of provision for the site. Supports Hospital's mission to provide the highest quality care by complying with regulatory guidelines and meeting agency standards.
JOB DUTIES / KNOWLEDGE
1. Develops strategies and classroom modifications for student that address all areas of development and each child's IEP goals/ insurance goals or other using developmentally appropriate materials.
2. Provides specialized individual or group instruction to the student.
3. Provides ABA services as per IEP supervised by BCBA until degree completed
4. Provides Insurance based ABA treatment and other qualified services with supervision.
5. Completes Functional Behavior Analysis and Behavioral Intervention Plans as needed.
6. Performs all duties as coordinator of services including attendance at CPSE, CSE meetings.
7. Ensures safe programming and environment.
8. Develops and implement system documentation necessary to maintain accountability and compliance with the C.P.S.E. and E.I , CSE and Insurance, Private standards.
9. Consults with all team members for each student to ensure quality care.
10. Provides consultation to the child’s teacher/staff/ families to adjust the learning environment and/or modify instructional methods to meet the individual needs of student.
11. Collaborates with families/ staff/ school personnel or other to assure placement for student in least restrictive environment in accordance with student’s needs.
12. Performs scheduling of student’s efficiently and professionally within the guidelines of IEP and preschool or other requirements.
13. Performs both formal and informal assessment of student’s progress and document progress towards IEP goals and objectives or other stated mandates.
14. Participates in supervision to assure quality care.
Formal education required :
Masters Degree in Special Education Certified Special Education Teacher by the New York State Board of Education
Previous experience required:
Minimum of two years experience in early childhood special education.
