Talent Development, Retention, Diversity Recruitment Manager
Department: Human Resources
Unit: Professional and Administrative Exempt
Salary: Grade 108 - Specific salary based on experience
JOB SUMMARY
The person serving in this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic systems with the goal of hiring, developing, and retaining the best and the brightest, with a focus on building a more representative work force serving the district’s students and mission. This will be achieved by building partnerships, both internally and externally, to develop the talent GRPS already has, retain the top performers, and recruit diverse individuals from outside the district to help achieve the district’s academic goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Recruitment
Develops and implements strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse talent from underrepresented groups for all aspects of the organization, with a primary focus on teachers and school based administrative positions.
Develops and implements strategic initiatives for recruiting teachers in hard to fill subject areas.
Partners with managers and district leaders to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood.
Develops plans for key staffing initiatives.
Networks through colleges of education, industry contacts, community partners, association memberships, trade groups and employees to find and develop qualified active and passive candidates.
Tracks and reports key metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity and the success of the recruitment efforts.
Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Development
Works with university partners on building pipelines of teacher candidates made up of underrepresented individuals.
Works with internal employees (e.g., paraprofessionals) on pathways to grow within GRPS and become teachers.
Partners with universities on providing these pathways to internal employees.
Participates in associations that have a mission to develop diversity within the teaching profession.
Creates a pathway for students to become teachers.
Partners with community colleges and universities on providing these pathways to students.
Provides professional development to principals and building based staff to grow and develop Young Education Society, or similar, clubs as a means to increase interest in teaching from our own diverse student body.
Coordinates and manages the Hire Reach initiative to decrease bias in hiring practices and increase retention.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Retention
Develops retention initiatives to retain high achieving teachers and principals based on latest retention research and best practices.
Provides professional development to principals on latest best practices and research on retention of teachers, particularly teachers from underrepresented groups.
Tracks, analyzes, and reports on data of annual district and individual schoolteacher turnover.
Works with district staff and building leaders to address and correct areas of high teacher turnover, in particular high turnover from underrepresented groups, based on results of data analysis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree; and three (3) years of staffing/recruiting experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree.
Bilingual preferred.
Experience recruiting in the field of education or similar sector.
Special Qualifications:
Must possess a valid State Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle process.
Knowledge of data mining and internet research.
Skills in recruiting all levels of the organization from entry level to administrative.
Skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, project manager).
Skills in leading employment related projects; project management.
Skills in the use of social media.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with diverse populations.
Ability to travel frequently in state and out of state.
Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality with all education records in accordance with FERPA.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.
