The Talent Acquisition Specialist strategically and proactively sources candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs. This role reports to the Senior HR Generalist. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with the HR team, and management on strategic planning to address the recruitment needs and challenges (both current and long-term) that are specific to each of the corporation’s various departments.
Area of Talent: Recruitment Strategist/Talent Manager/Diversity and Inclusion Advocate
Position Type: Full Time/Exempt
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000
Office Location: NYC/Financial District
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with management on all diversity initiatives involving recruitment to ensure fairness and equity in the hiring and recruitment process
- Place and update all job postings in various media including internet/intranet sites, colleges, social networks, community boards, and staffing partners
- Utilize proactive recruiting techniques, develop industry contacts, and select qualified individuals who will provide added value to the department, business objectives and the organization
- Represent the corporation at recruitment events (i.e., college job fairs). Provide corporation/job information and interviewing applicants
- Partner with the Human Resources team to have a full-scale understanding of hiring needs and available positions within the corporation
- Continually collect and analyze information and evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting activities, provide valuable input aimed at continuously improving our recruiting efforts; monitoring and analyzing the competitive environment
- Recruit and perform talent acquisition activities such as resume screening, candidate interviews, recommend the final selection of applicants and close qualified candidates
- Cultivate ongoing relationships with colleges and universities
- Educate hiring managers on recruitment systems and processes and ensure consistency and compliance with staffing processes, guidelines, and better practices
- Develop and implement recruitment efforts with HDC’s DEI strategy in mind
- Ensure that recruitment efforts continue to reach appropriately diverse pools of applicants
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience developing and executing recruitment strategies
- 3 years + directly relevant, Talent Acquisition experience managing recruitment-related functions for an organization
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred (comparable experience considered)
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations as it relates to recruiting and talent acquisition
- Proficient in using software and databases to connect with and reach out to potential candidates
- Familiarity with sourcing and recruiting tools to include use of social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn)
