Job Description

If you said yes to all of these questions, this may be the position for you. Pratt Institute is seeking a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join the newly created Talent Acquisition team. The TA Coordinator will support the TA Manager with coordinating open positions in our ATS, creating job postings and job ads, create diversity metrics that will tell a story about the applicant and candidate pools. All of these will support the creation of a hiring strategy that will support and enhance Pratt’s overall diversity goals for recruiting faculty and staff. About The Role


The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will assist the Talent Acquisition Manager in driving diversity-focused hiring across the Institute. The ideal candidate will support the HR Generalists with onboarding and hiring managers to create job posting ads, enter those ads into the ATS system and ensure the jobs have been closed within the system once filled to ensure exceptional candidate experience. This role interacts with all levels of the Institution to successfully execute the recruitment process as well as special projects. The ideal candidate might not have any prior recruitment experience but wants to break into Talent Acquisition/Human Resources. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, inquisitive, and outgoing. This is a tremendous developmental opportunity for the right person. This hybrid position requires candidates to work out of our Brooklyn office 3-4 days per week. Below is a sample of what your day-to-day responsibilities will look like, but is not complete with all you will contribute to Pratt.


What You'll Do


  • Exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with and develop rapport with all levels of the organization and external candidates
  • 2 years of relevant Human Resources coordination experience. Experience within higher education & recruiting preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Draft and edit job postings, clearly understanding the difference between a job ad vs. a job posting vs. a job description.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred, with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Proficiency with various recruiting processes, including but not limited to background checks, new hire data entry, and knowledge of life cycle recruiting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills, with a proven ability to manage time, priorities, and projects
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager to develop a diversity-focused recruitment strategy to hire according to projected staffing plans and increase recruiting efficiency
  • Support all aspects of the recruiting process, working directly with the Talent Acquisition Manager, HR generalists, Candidates, and Managers, coordinating and processing positions in the ATS, and providing onboarding support for new hires.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Experience producing Excel reporting required. Knowledge or project management is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in HR or Organizational Management or equivalent experience required
  • Additional support requirements include interview scheduling, candidate correspondence, administration of employment applications, posting jobs on internal and external sites, and front desk reception duties
  • Calendar management experience with multiple calendars using Gmail is strongly preferred

  • You are able to report to work in person in our Brooklyn office 3-4 days per week with some flexibility
  • You are able to download data from the ATS, and generate Excel reports and presentations
  • You are savvy and proficient with technology, specifically MS Office suite, including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, MS Office Suite; Experience producing Excel reporting required, Google Mail, and experience with ATS systems, preferably NeoEd Insights,
  • You are able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment; you have the desire to grow in the recruiting arena
  • You are timely and responsive and will present Pratt’s Talent Acquisition function and HR professionally
  • You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR, or Organizational Management
  • Coordinate interviews- both video and in-person via Zoom/MS Teams meetings or directing candidates/interview teams to the appropriate interview spaces
  • You are a collaborative individual that is a confident and persuasive communicator (written and verbal)

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $55,000 - 65,000, commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on HR experience.
