Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist II assists with the planning, organization, and execution of hiring events. They will assist in organizing, marketing for, and executing high-volume recruiting, primarily for skilled and unskilled labor. Additionally, they will collaborate with hiring managers to develop attractive job descriptions, source and screen candidates, schedule and conduct interviews, and draft and present offers.


The ideal candidate has experience with full life cycle recruiting for quick-turn and/or high-volume federal contracts, be energetic, personable, organized, detail-oriented, and driven to meet deadlines.


Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Use a variety of job boards and other web-based tools to identify and contact qualified candidates.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, community leaders, trade schools, tech schools, and employment offices in all locations hiring events have occurred.
  • Maintain contact with hard-to-find candidates using various techniques to keep the candidates interested.
  • Provide weekly reports to hiring managers on the status of requisitions, candidate quality, and candidate pipeline.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop hiring event recruitment goals.
  • Meet with community partners in advance of hiring events, pass out flyers and engage in other activities to spread the word about Deployed Resources jobs.
  • Track candidate workflow in the ADP/UKG applicant tracking system.
  • Follow-up with candidates who were not able to attend hiring events for further consideration.
  • Assist with delivering New Hire Orientation (NHO).
  • Negotiate starting salary with management and candidate.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop screening questions and evaluation criteria.
  • Set up registration desk, interview rooms, and onboarding areas for hiring events.
  • Assist with logistical and event planning efforts for recruiting events.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the HR, Field Operations, Food Service, and broader Talent Acquisition teams.
  • "Sell” the opportunity, department, and company to prospective candidates.
  • Collaborate with temp agencies.
  • Process onboarding paperwork for new team members.
  • Develop benches of screened candidates for recurring openings
  • Engage in high-volume calling to meet recruiting deadlines, often with tight timelines.
  • Test and troubleshoot hiring event equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Exercise creativity by sourcing candidates in a variety of places using outside-the-box search methods.
  • Assist in developing marketing plans for hiring events and job fairs.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to create, edit, and post job advertisements.
  • Perform salary surveys and make compensation recommendations.
  • Source, screen, interview, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers.

Skills and Specifications

  • Strong preference for a candidate who lives near the Southern U.S. border; Jackson, MS; or in the Eastern or Central time zones.
  • Good judge of character
  • Knowledge of Adobe Pro DC and ability to work with pdf files.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and juggle multiple competing deadlines.
  • Function as a team player, work well under pressure and be a forward thinker.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend solutions.

  • Knowledge of Boolean search principles and strategies
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and UKG is desired.
  • Ability to deliver bad news regularly.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to priorities.

Work Environment

This job operates remotely and in office settings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, tablets, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. may occur.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position based remotely. Typical office hours 8am-5pm M-F, however, must be available for hiring events, job fairs, surges, and special events. The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends is required based on contract needs.


Travel

This is a travel heavy position, traveling up to 50% of the time. The ability to travel on short notice and be away for periods of time based on contract needs is required. Travel expenses are paid for by Deployed Resources.


Required Education and Experience

  • Experience recruiting using LinkedIn, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other job boards.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is desired.
  • Experience conducting onboarding and NHO.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Will consider an Associate degree plus 2 additional years of relevant experience in-lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience advertising on job boards in a way that maximizes ROI.
  • ADP Workforce Now and/or UKG experience is desired.
  • Experience with Staffing and/or High-Volume Recruiting, preferably for Federal contracts
  • Experience planning and/or executing hiring events and job fairs.
  • 2+ years of Recruiting and/or Onboarding experience is required and must include some combination of the following:


Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, background check, and credit check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
