Summary:
We are searching for a System Analyst to help support our provider master file (SER). In this position, you will support and troubleshoot issues related to settings in the SER that drive orders, clinical, scheduling and revenue cycle workflows. . In this position, you will develop clinical/business solutions by investigating processes to understand data and communications flow with individual tasks and transactions within Texas Children's Integrated Delivery System.
The System Analyst is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of information system assets. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical understanding, communication and presentation skills, and eagerness to solve complex security problems. The right applicant should be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently. This position will develop and promote the Information Security Strategic Plan and Information Security Policies, audit compliance with Security Policies, and lead remediation initiatives.

Qualifications
- 4 years experience in information systems
- S. Diploma or GED
Preferred Knowledge and duties
Experience with hospital information systems specific to EPIC preferred
Updates master files and other revenue cycle tables to ensure optimal system performance and accuracy, including but not limited to Provider master files
Assists users in identifying system or application needs by analyzing use of existing systems to help identify problem to be resolved and defines process improvements
Identifies and documents the data sources and recipients that need to be developed to support data collection and maintenance
Coordinates testing and validations in upgrades of systems
Ensures a tracking log of all support efforts by entering a ticket log internally with Information Services or report performance issues and performs follow up to bring quick resolution
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate existing and /or proposed systems
- Assists users in determining specific requirements to increase system effectiveness
- Assists in vendor analysis and selection
- Investigate alternative solutions including feasibility studies using results from vendor analysis/evaluations
- Document the "as is" the "to be" clinical/business processes
- Provides input to project implementation plan
- Develop, schedule, and facilitate test plans for hardware, network, integration, user acceptance, and parallel usage
- Assists users to ensure a smooth transition of system responsibilities to support
- Demonstrate efficiencies of the new system and provide feedback to teams
- Review and test systems for conformance to functional and performance requirements
- Act as a primary facilitator for small and less complex implementations.
- Identify the impacts and dependencies of the new system
- Develop procedures for downtime, end-users, production, and help desk
- Prepares accurate and timely status reports for management
- Develop training programs and materials/documentation for all user types
- Identifies and documents the data sources, recipients, and interfaces that need to be developed to support data collection and maintenance (including data conversion requirements and how start-up data will be collected for implementation)
- Facilitates design analysis with users to determine the configuration for the user interface
- Assists with the design of user procedures
- Specifies the design decisions in an accurate and testable manner for developers and database analysts
- Performs application maintenance activities on IS supported applications
- Assists users to resolve problems with application use
- Recommends modifications to application design or current procedures to maximize advantages of existing resources
- Documents issues, activities, and solutions employing standard methodology and utilities
- Evaluates business procedures and problems for process improvement
- Analyzes use of existing systems to identify and resolve problems
- Coordinates the upgrade schedules with vendors and users across the Integrated Delivery System
- Analyzes impact on users and determines if additional training is required
- Communicates with vendors to address problems and resolutions
- Schedules sessions with users to view new systems and upgrade
- Assists with upgrade testing
