Job Description

RGME is seeking a cross-functional, tech-savvy spatial individual to join our collaborative team as a GIS Analyst in Houston, TX. You will serve a key role in RGME creating and analyzing daily GIS functionalities. You will focus on maintaining geodatabases containing wet utility infrastructure assets and associated attribute data using ArcGIS software suite. This position includes the acquisition and conversion of spatial data from different sources, detailed analysis of the data, and the subsequent communication of findings through the creation of exhibits and reports for various departments. This position also involves the supervision of GIS Technicians. Candidate must possess strong ArcGIS data conversion, analysis, and editing skills and a well-organized, detailed oriented work process.


What you will do:

  • Perform project tasks related to GIS, creation, quality control, and maintenance of geodatabases containing wet utility infrastructure assets
  • Perform GPS data collection in the field
  • Perform acquisition and conversion of spatial data, subsequent analysis and communication through exhibits and reports
  • Guide and direct GIS Technicians during work assignments

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field preferred
  • Good organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to prioritize competing tasks
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced organization
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in GIS
  • Knowledge of utility infrastructure and ArcGIS Utility Network preferred
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS server a bonus
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the ArcGIS software suite
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Attentive and approachable. Able to navigate a dynamic and collaborative work environment
