Summary
Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Director with overall responsibility for Purchasing, Warehouse, Picking Parts, Inventory Management, and Cycle Counting. You will report to the VP of Operations and oversee a team of 8 Direct Reports and 140 Indirect. There are more than 1200 employees at this plant location.

Job Details
- Lead a team that includes the Materials Manager, Purchasing Manager, Cycle Count Supervisor, Production Planners, and Supply Chain Specialist
- Prepare production analysis charts, job and machine load forecasts, labor forecasts, and project completion reports, metrics, and other reports for monthly planning reviews
- Develop and deploy a robust stocking strategy for our global warehousing operations; ensure an optimized balance of best-in-class service levels with a flexible and high turn inventory position to maximize free cash flow
- Plan and establish long-range production control goals and objectives
- Consolidate sales forecasts and overlays demand stocking strategies and production capacities to build a robust and flexible production and procurement model to ensure an optimal balance of working capital performance with product availability
- Lead teams across multiple functions and locations to execute production control objectives, including new model introductions, cycle counting, and managing obsolete inventory
- Maintain relationships between manufacturing, strategic sourcing, purchasing, engineering, finance, and sales departments to keep them informed as to schedules, needs, and order status
- Provide direction and leadership to cross-functional teams to optimize order lead times and minimize freight expense
- Manage short and long-range schedule planning, machine loading, material requirements, raw materials management, and procurement to obtain maximum utilization of labor, tools, and equipment for all locations
- Develop utilization and financial models in support of long-range and annual planning and other business needs
- Partner with other leaders to develop and lead the sales and operations planning processes to include monthly and quarterly Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent education and experience
- 5 years of Warehouse Management experience
- 5 years of direct management experience, preferably at an Automotive, Off-Highway, Specialty Vehicle, Aerospace, or other Fast-Paced, Metals Manufacturing plant with at least 500 employees at the location you're responsible for.
- 10 years of progressive experience in Planning and/or Master Production Scheduling with experience in Sourcing, Purchasing, and Logistics
- Familiarity with SAP (MRP) would be ideal.
- Working knowledge and experience with resource planning systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics) and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
Preferred Certification
- APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
