Enterprise Records and Health Information (ERHI) currently has an outstanding opportunity for a SUPPLY CHAIN BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST.
The Supply Chain Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will work as a member of the UW Medicine (UWM) Supply Chain Informatics team to further ongoing initiatives of streamlining and enhancing operational reporting for Supply Chain. This role's focus will be on, but not limited to, enabling Business Intelligence (BI) and data-driven decision-making for UWM Supply Chain.
Additionally, the BI analyst will provide partner support for operational and ad-hoc efforts, as well as internal partnering with other SCM teams on strategic projects and data maintenance. Tasks will emphasize data needs assessment, manipulation of quantitative data, report standardization,and process definition, applying knowledge of data from Supply Chain's flagship system, Horizon Enterprise Materials Management (HEMM).
Under general direction of the Data Analytics Manager, the BI Analyst will support other units within UWM Supply Chain and customers from other UWM entities. The BI Analyst will be expected to be able to synthesize diverse and sometimes competing stakeholder needs in ambiguous environments to provide a quality product. The person in this position must understand organizational business objectives and processes and then conceptualize, document, collaborate on, implement, and communicate the design of solutions for operational activities. The BI Analyst will develop, revise and analyze queries and reports, visualizations, and provide analytical services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize Business Intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Excel, in the design and development of data analytics projects for Supply Chain Department
  • Partner with the UW Medicine ITS and other technology teams to deliver a stable and highly available platform for publishing and distribution of reports
  • Develop SQL queries, views or stored procedures for more complex reporting needs; collaborating with Data Analytics Manager
    Understand how data flows between HEMM and its downstream and upstream systems, MPOUS and HSM, to ensure data is organized properly for reporting/analytics
    Provide actionable intelligence with existing metrics or identify, develop and propose new metrics;
  • Work with SCM's internal and external customers on BI projects to understand requirements, analyzing the request, providing estimeates of effort involved and developing an effective solution to address the request
  • Create Ad Hoc Reporting, as needed, per requester specifications and agreed upon dates/specifications
  • Collaborate with IS Application Support Manager and Application support team in testing new reports and analytics for validation, accuracy and usability; create test plans and scripts for system and user acceptance testing
  • Collaborate on building data repository of HEMM data, how it relates to DAWG, pre and post D1, and in preparation for Workday
  • Secure resources from appropriate UW Medicine entities and project leaders for projects or problem resolution
    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Information Systems or equivalent and 3-5 years experience to include:
  • Minimum 2 year of experience developing and implementing reports and dashboards
  • Ability to transform business level requirements to efficient dashboards and visualizations
  • Experience working with large datasets and optimization
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare Supply Chain Management
  • Working experience with McKesson applications, specifically HEMM, HEFM HSM, MPOUS (Point-of-Use)
  • Proficiency in SQL query skills
  • Proficiency in SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) Reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with Tableau dashboards
    Equivalent experience may substitute for degree.
    Desired:
  • Experience with Tibco Spotfire dashboards design, development, and R integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, ambiguous environment
  • Ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
  • Experience analyzing data and communicating the results to stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving skills for difficult to complex issues
