Job Description
Job Title: Systems Analyst II – ST
Job Summary And Mission
This position contributes to Starbucks success by delivering and supporting technology solutions in support of Retail Inventory Management initiatives. As a systems analyst II – Corporate Technology, Engineering & QA, you will design and deploy technology and process solutions establishing key business capabilities enabling the realization of strategic initiatives and operational improvements. This role requires experience performing requirements analysis, solution design, and process improvement coupled with the ability to collaborate across various IT and business functions. In delivering new technology and enhancing/supporting existing systems, an effective systems analyst II contributes relevant technical, functional, and process knowledge to ensure a consistent user technology experience.
Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Summary Of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Solution Design
  • Effectively assesses improvement opportunities (productivity/efficiency gains, cost savings, etc.)
  • Utilizes agile delivery methodologies and participates on scrum teams in execution of solution delivery projects.
  • Utilizes LEAN techniques to develop business process designs and improve operations via process re-engineering efforts.
  • Considers overall user technology experience in thoughtfully designing engaging solutions.
  • Supports solution design utilizing user-centric design techniques.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and documents solution requirements. Facilitates user story creation and backlog grooming in an agile delivery environment.
System Configuration & Testing
  • Performs application configuration (i.e. create attributes, workflows and UI changes) in support of solution delivery initiatives.
  • Supports data analytics and conversion. Performs data extract, load, and validation of converted data.
  • Supports solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, performing test execution, and validating test results.
  • Leverages sql queries to support validation of data and data test results.
Production Support
  • Creates and maintains systems documentation (e.g. Confluence, Knowledge Base Articles)
  • Drive system support, working trouble tickets and escalating to teammates according to priority and required expertise queue, completing resolution within SLA.
  • Provides rotating on-call support of critical sytems.
  • Uses query tools (DBeaver, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.) to write/run ad-hoc queries for data analysis.
  • Coordinates issue resolution with vendors and/or cross-functional teams. Provides timely and thorough communication regarding issue status/resolution with end-users and team.
  • Develops system proficiency and builds subject matter expertise through root cause analysis.
  • Develops and facilitates system training.
Leadership
  • Self-directed; is successful with minimal direction from lead analysts / leadership, providing escalation when necessary.
  • Partners with business and peer cross-functional analyst teams for analysis of sustainment initiatives
  • Able to lead and own small to medium streams of design/work
  • Works with technical team by applying functinoal knowledge/expertise to arrive at work/design
  • Influences/supports new ideas and decisions with the team; Influences abilities within a known skillset/competency/tool
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to interact with senior leadership, technical and business resources.
  • Ability to support enterprise business applications and integrated system environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to drive work to completion effectively in self-directed manner.
  • Retail / Supply Chain Inventory Management application knowledge along with system configuration experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Experience with API’s; Microservices
  • Configuration knowledge of relevant ERP applications/modules/platforms (Supply Chain / Inventory & Order Management)
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Requirements, Functional - Solution Design
