Job Description

Role Description

The Strategic People Partner will collaborate closely with fellow HR Business Partners and the Sr Director of People Operations to both successfully complete all role responsibilities and act as a thought-partner in projects and initiatives that shape our organization’s Human Resources processes, tools, and active functions. A successful Strategic People Partner will work closely with operational partners and support numerous stages of the employee lifecycle, with responsibilities pertaining to but not limited to recruitment, training, and employee relations.


Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership (20%)

  • Partner and collaborate with your business unit stakeholders in order to translate business issues / goals into people strategies for short / medium term solutions.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to complex situations, requiring you to customize and tailor more traditional people practices.
  • Continuously connect the dots between business issues / solutions to various levers within the people function (e.g. recruiting, compensation, L&D, talent management, people operations, compliance).


Workforce Planning (20%)

  • Understand where capability strengths flourish and strategize methods to capitalize on them.
  • Maintain real time insights into the performance of the employee population and plan accordingly.


Employee Relations (20%)

  • Handle ER issues in a timely manner and de-escalate as necessary. Partner with relevant stakeholders depending on the severity of the issue.
  • Anticipate ER issues and identify themes and trends. Recommend solutions to eliminate or greatly reduce frequency of ER issues in the future.


Performance & Compensation Cycles (15%)

  • Compensation / Merit / Bonus - Manage / Lead compensation / merit / bonus cycles for your respective employee population and customize as necessary.
  • Performance Management - Manage / Lead performance management cycles for your respective employee population and customize as necessary.


Project Management (10%)

  • Manage and lead small / medium size projects while applying project management practices related to: timelines, scoping, stakeholder management, budget, gantt charts, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders frequently in order to maintain ongoing alignment.


People Operations / Processes (10%)

  • Manage relevant administrative processes as needed. Proactively seek out methods to handle administrative tasks efficiently.


Organization Design / Change Management / Communications (5%)

  • Proactively propose team structure adjustments for the future state addressing long term business needs.
  • Identify skills gaps and capability requirements as the business evolves. Plan out next steps in order to make the solutions come to life.


Qualifications


  • A foundational knowledge of the hospitality or restaurant industry and operations strongly preferred
  • Exemplary time management a must
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solvings skills
  • Extensive experience successfully executing strategies through others
  • Ability to travel minimally on a quarterly basis within the United States
  • 6+ years successfully supporting human resources functions strongly preferred
  • Task oriented, ability to successfully multitask and delegate successfully
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively up and down organizational structures, from line-level associates, to peers, to executives within both exempt and non-exempt employee populations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field strongly preferred
