What You Will Do:
- Work with polymer synthesis and characterization including but not limited to: FTIR, NMR, ELSD, GC-MS, HPLC-GC, and XRD.
- Responsible for the development of new chemical additives and troubleshooting additive performance in monomer production with online monitoring/automation tools within the Global Chemical market
- Lead multi-disciplinary groups on extensive projects to develop novel polymerization inhibitor, antioxidant, and/or dispersant formulations processes from bench to pilot scale using a phased innovation model, including running equipment and unit operations.
- Work with multi-disciplinary groups on projects encompassing troubleshooting chemical processes, product formulation, and test method development, and direct customer and licensor interaction
- Troubleshoot problems such as: fouling, corrosion, and emulsions in monomer production.
- Apply fundamental principles of chemistry to chemical production processes to develop solutions to customer challenges and product formulation including: product stability testing, materials compatibility testing, and development/scale-up of manufacturing procedures
- Be responsible for the development of new chemical additives and troubleshooting additive performance in monomer production with online monitoring/automation tools within the Global Chemical market
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to understand engineering concepts
- Proficiency with common commercial software such as MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated competencies in petrochemical plant design, process flow, and P&ID evaluation
- 7+ years of industrial experience within the oil and gas industry
- Experience in business development through technical support
- Demonstrated competencies in process development, design, and scale-up of chemical processes
- Experience in authoring and presenting technical papers at industry-relevant conferences or seminars
- 3+ years of industrial research experience within the petrochemical industry, specifically in the field of monomer processing
- Proven track record of patented industrial developments
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience in working with customers in Europe, Asia, and Middle East
- Self-starting, team-orientated individual who can operate independently and as part of a high-performing team
- Project management training with demonstrated project management experience
