Position Summary:

The Formulation Associate II is responsible for the daily formulation, packaging, and testing of all skincare, chemical, and esthetic products scheduled daily. They will assist in filling, capping, & labeling as needed. Follows ISO 22716, GLP, GMP and other regulating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Formulate all skincare, chemical, and other formulations, including weighing, measuring, and mixing raw materials and components according to product formula specifications.

2. Complete stability testing via assays/titrations and PH on current and new products.

3. Perform QC checks on intermediate and finished products.

4. Fills and labels finished goods when necessary.

5. Maintains the cleanliness of the lab, lab tools and equipment, and work areas ensuring adherence to safety laws and state and federal regulations and guidelines.

6. Assist in the creation and verification of product and outbound labels.

Education and Experience:

1. bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or equivalent experience.

2. 3+ years’ work experience in medical devices, consumer products, or the cosmetics industry.

3. Formulation experience in manufacturing in a GMP work environment.

4. Experience in using ERP / warehouse management systems in a manufacturing environment.

5. 3+ years working in compliance with cGMP and GLP regulations in medical, or cosmetics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Strong knowledge of chemistry, chemical attributes, and terminology.

2. Skill in using manufacturing equipment, such as dispensing pumps, pipettes, and other precision liquid measuring equipment, pH meter, weight balances, and other basic laboratory equipment.

3. Ability to calculate chemical formula weight, multiplication and division, ratio and proportion, and significant figures rounding and reporting.

4. Ability to understand and follow OTC and medical device testing requirements, and formulation protocols.

5. In-depth understanding of Good Document Practices and how they relate to GLP and GMP.

6. Ability to conduct root cause analysis of non-conforming products.

7. Works in a safe manner in the laboratory and ensures a clean and organized workspace.

8. Ability to pay high attention to detail and accuracy.

9. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

10. Must be able to work as a team player.

11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
