Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. Utilizing advanced methodologies and proprietary in-house tools, BakerRisk engineers assess the consequences and risks associated with potentially catastrophic events including explosions, fires, and toxic material releases.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will work with engineers and a small development team to create and improve software used to perform engineering analyses. Working with a small team of developers means you will have opportunities to learn and participate in a wide range of software engineering tasks.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with engineering experts (local and remote) to gather and understand software requirements and implement new engineering models.
- Develop and improve engineering-level models for implementation into user-friendly software.
- Work with local and remote teams to find, trouble-shoot, and resolve software issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Familiar with numerical methods.
- Proficient in one or more object-oriented language such as .NET, Java, and C/C++.
- Eager to learn.
- Familiarity with software engineering concepts such as object-oriented programming, with the desire to expand this skill set.
- Demonstrated competency in your field of engineering.
Education and Experience
- Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in a field of engineering, such as Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
