Job Description

General Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities would include conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM E 1527-13. Gather and evaluate regulatory and historical data, perform site reconnaissance, interview stakeholders, conduct file reviews and prepare a report detailing findings. Responsibilities could also include conducting environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys in order to sample, measure and analyze building materials, air, water, and soil. Assist in preparing technical documents including proposals, reports and regulatory agency correspondence. Project work may include limited site investigations, ecological and natural resource surveys, tank closure assessments, asbestos inspections and sampling, storm water inspections and sampling, remediation system operations and maintenance and site planning and permitting. Completion of some projects may require working outside of standard office hours and days. The ideal candidate for this position will be flexible to changing project types/needs, available to travel for field investigations, and able to adapt to working on different project teams depending on project needs. This position would be part of a very skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high-performing team. The successful candidate must be task oriented, able to commit to assigned deadlines, possess a teamwork and a growth-oriented mindset, and strive towards continued self-development through increased technical and industry related knowledge and skill.
Required Skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
  • Ability to work on projects concurrently and deliver quality product on time.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and 0 to 2 years related experience.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities
  • Maintains and calibrates field monitoring equipment
  • Assists with operation and maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
  • Performs testing and sampling of environmental materials including soil, air, groundwater, building materials, and noise.
  • May assist with report preparation by summarizing data and information within reports
  • May assist with asbestos surveys and abatement projects.
  • Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
  • Entry level scientific professional responsible for gathering data and information to be evaluated by other team members.
  • Operates field monitoring equipment.
  • Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
