Sr Quality Assurance Technician

SR. QA TECHNICIAN

A Sr. QA Technician, either through schooling or experience, will have the skills needed to create extensive test plans to verify the quality of software and hardware projects. They work with their peers to ensure quality by verifying programs function according to user requirements and conform to established standards. They work with Project Administrators to estimate project testing efforts, maintain project pages and communicate status reports.

Essential Job Functions

· Work as the project lead on moderate sized software projects

· Create detailed testing strategies to outline the general testing that needs to be

accomplished

· Create detailed test cases for full system requirement coverage/traceability

· Execute test cases to validate software/hardware functionality

· Create/Run SQL statements in order to create, update, or validate data

· Identify and document application defects in a centralized issue tracking system

· Report testing results and statuses as appropriate

· Other duties as assigned

Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines or goals without direct supervision
• Solid understanding of SQL
• General understanding of test design and testing methodologies
• Precise attention to detail
• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
• Great organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Good problem-solving skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

Desired:

• Basic Linux knowledge
• 1+ year of Quality Assurance testing experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree
• Leadership skills
• Experience with Point-of-Sale software applications
• Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. TestFLO for Jira)
