Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Entry Level

The successful candidate will create a tight, cooperative relationship with our software developers and will become an indispensable part of the product team to answer end-user questions and document bugs. The candidate will need a strong attention to detail and understanding of QA documentation. This is a unique B2B product with direct customer support.

Role

You will be responsible for the planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies, and support developers while documenting multiple environments bugs. Your success will depend on your ability to cultivate comradery with Agile team members while telling them their baby is ugly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare test reports and communicate business processes and system requirements between the client and the development team. Analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative findings from testing efforts.
• Plan, design, execute and oversee inspection and testing of software products to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
• Monitor risk-management procedures, and maintain and analyze problem logs to identify and report recurring issues to management and product development
• Assist product management in tracking, documenting, and reporting quality levels as well as departmental goals/KPIs
• Develop or update company complaint and inspection procedures to ensure capture and investigation, as well as proper documentation of complaints
• Shorten the time for defect identification as much as possible
• Analyze and investigate product complaints or reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements

Required Technical Skills

• Capacity to accurately interpret test results

• Experience directly communicating verbally and in writing with or supporting an end-user community
• Must be able to write and follow test plans
• Effective defect advocacy without confrontation
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong problem solving and process definition
• Positive, serving attitude with enthusiasm and passion that infects every call, meeting, and room you join
• 1-2 years of automated or manual software testing experience demonstrating a methodical approach to defect identification
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work within a team
• Pays strict attention to detail
• Effective prioritization of workload with minimal supervision
• Manage junior QA and Customer Support team

Desired

• Experience with Scrum or Kanban agile software development methodologies
• Experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical field
