Position Description


The Sr. Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll and administering the company benefit programs. The Sr. Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will maintain payroll, employee, and benefit information within the HRIS system and will make necessary updates to this information on a regular and as needed basis.


Essential Job Responsibilities


  • Ensure payroll compliance matters related to state and local taxes are handled efficiently and timely
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries
  • Administer health insurance and retirement benefits including enrollments, changes and terminations
  • Additional duties as assigned
  • Ensure annual compliance with benefit forms, such as Form 5500, 401k non-discrimination testing, and ACA compliance, are filed with high accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepares and processes multi-state, bi-weekly payroll with high accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with any payroll related internal and external audit needs
  • Create and maintain payroll and benefits processes documentation
  • Performs reconciliation and audits the accuracy of company and employee payroll records
  • Review and approve employee timesheets timely for bi-weekly payroll processing

Requirements


  • Experience with auditing payroll and benefits timely and accurately
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits standards
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new things quickly
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle daily planned and unplanned operational activities
  • Demonstrated skill in attention to detail and accuracy with data
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (ability to build relationships and gain credibility and trust)
  • 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll administration with a minimum of 1 year of experience with Ceridian

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $90,000. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive commission. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
