The Senior Operations Implementation Project Manager supports our Purpose by applying an understanding of cross-functional business objectives to driv e all aspects of highly complex, highly visible projects within key departments throughout the Company. This role partners with accountable Leaders in Business (Commercial and Operations) and Technology while lead ing a Team to deliver superior project results within the desired scope, timeline, and budget. The Senior Operations Implementation Project Manager is a strategic thinker who looks forward to building strong relationships and initiating meaningful change at Southwest.

A Project Management Professional certification may be beneficial for transitioning to this role, but is not required.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Partner with Ops Strategy and Implementation Managers and Directors to lead projects in support of the department's strategic plan
Understands complex business objectives and scope; based on the initiative, partners with program managers, project managers, business consultants, and subject matter experts to define and deliver the objectives
Develop project charters and project plans for multiple simultaneous projects or for a single high complexity project spanning multiple functional areas including scope, budget and schedule and executes tasks defined in the project plan to achieve project goals using standard project management methodologies and practices
Communicate plan and all relevant components of the plan such as risk, schedules, expectations, and ongoing updates to Leaders, Stakeholders, Sponsors, and Project Teams to maintain project alignment
Partner with resource managers, Business Partners, and vendors to assemble a project Team and provide ongoing motivation to drive projects to successful completion
Proactively monitor risks, issues, and scope, ensuring the appropriate level of priority, visibility, and escalation
Build trust and influence without authority cross-functionally and across diverse Teams
Mentors less experienced project managers
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, Leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of People and resources
Knowledge of project management processes, procedures, and tools
Knowledge of MS Project, Visio, and MS Office Suite including SharePoint
Knowledge of financial management principles to create, track, and update project finances and business case
Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED Experience
Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:
Project management
Issue and risk management
Licensing/Certification

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $118,600 per year to $131,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
