Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.

As Sr Manager of Payroll Accounting & Tax, you’ll provide strategic direction and leadership to the payroll team, ensuring processes and controls are effective for timely, accurate and efficient payroll accounting and tax operations. You’ll develop strong partnerships with internal partners such as Financial Reporting, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Global Mobility to identify and resolve complex payroll issues and deliver accurate financial statements. You’ll have indirect leadership with the Target India Payroll Tax team to help deliver best in class operations. Using your influence skills, you’ll use insights and data to advocate for Payroll in enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring that new solutions meet our requirements for compliance and operational excellence. You will drive vision through creative problem solving and analysis as you work with large volumes of complex data to draw conclusions that identify process improvements and automations, improve accurate and timely tax payments and filings, and deliver industry-leading metrics.

About you:

• Strong communication, problem solving, organization and analytical skills
• Ability to be resilient and adaptable, working through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced operations environment
• College degree in Accounting, Finance or similar accounting experience
• Workday Payroll or Payroll Tax experience a plus
• Experience collaborating effectively across functional areas
• Demonstrated accounting knowledge to translate business operations into financial statement results including SOX controls, month end close and analytical reviews
• 5-7 years of leadership experience in accounting, finance or business operations with a focus on inclusivity, career development and support
• High level of curiosity, initiative and the desire to learn end to end processes to drive improvements

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target. The salary range is :$87,900.00 USD - $158,200.00 USD.
