Job Overview:
The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring we can analyze and report on customer behavior trends and performance to enable our partners to develop strategies and execute on those strategies. With your comprehensive command of data-analysis tools and techniques, you’ll design analytical projects, create beautiful data stories, and present insightful analyses to business partners and leadership. You will manage a growing team of analysts by mentoring analytic work and aiding day to day analyses. You will be an advocate for the team: raise awareness of team opportunities, blockers, and accomplishments to facilitate fast analytic results and to help build a highly performing, highly motivated team.
Essential Functions:
Sr. Manager, Advanced Analytics responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead team of analysts and promote a collaborative, continuous learning environment
- Translate complex data and key analytical findings into strategic recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- Develop analytical frameworks and perform technical analyses to plan, execute, and measure impact of corporate strategies
- Design and create compelling presentations and data visualizations to enhance decision making capabilities throughout the company.
- Deliver data-driven insights to answer complex business questions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define business problems, design innovative analytical approaches, and lead project execution.
- Identify business trends and shifts, and recommend data-driven responses and recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Develop customer plans using statistical modeling techniques and time series forecasting.
- Utilize Macy’s analytics toolset (IBM Digital Analytics, Hadoop, Tableau, etc.) to analyze and report on business results.
- Identify customer data issues and partner with data governance and technology teams to investigate root causes and remedy data defects.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Ability to build relationships and effectively manage internal customers
- People leader experience on a high performing team, focused on development, growth, & creating a culture of respect, positivity, & performance
- Familiarity with one or more of the following analytics tools: Tableau, R, Adobe, Google Big Query, Vertex AI.
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries. Python a plus.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and modeling techniques
- Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Strong leadership profile and ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills – skilled at analyzing and deriving meaningful insights out of complex data and translating that into actionable strategies.
- We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with partners across all levels of the company.
