Job Overview:
The Customer Analytics Team enables and empowers the Macy’s organization with analytic insight and solutions to support planning, tactical execution, and optimization of the customer experience. The Senior Manager, Macy’s Marketing Analytics will have a unique role because he/she will be 100% dedicated to supporting the recently formed Macy’s Acquisition and personalization initiative. Our newly formed Acquisition/personalization department is launching with a mission to connect Macy’s brands to consumers through data-driven marketing solutions. With more than 40M active customers annually, more than 500 stores, and one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the US, Macy’s is uniquely positioned to become a premier destination for fashion brands seeking to reach relevant audiences with personalized content. The Senior Manager will be a key contributor to the success of overseeing and analyzing results for the acquired customers and through the personalized message for the 1st party data targeted media campaigns across all tactics. The Senior Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing Effectiveness to stay closely connected to the core analytics being run to the Marketing Effectiveness Team.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, self-starter who thrives in a fast paced and rapidly evolving environment. He/she will support the project management team and will present analytics to the marketing team. The Senior Manager will be responsible for determining methods for best-in-class campaign metrics and reporting (e.g., Omni ROAS) and be responsible for the delivery and QA of all campaign reports. The Senior Manager will both perform analyses him/herself, as well as guide and coach a team of Analysts in the delivery of campaign reporting. The candidate will work closely with Marketing Technology and Digital teams in order to automate reporting once standards are established. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Build and set up program reporting, generate analyses, and coordinate day to day to ensure timely delivery of campaign reports.
- Perform complex analyses independently as well as guide, develop, and support analysts on your team.
- Own the development of custom campaign performance reporting and analysis across all acquisition and personalized offer campaigns.
- Lead the application of insights to influence marketing strategies that drive measurable growth for personalized marketing campaigns.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Develop advanced analyses for assessing the incrementality of campaigns.
- Stay informed about, communicate, and apply new or current trends and best practices in digital marketing and analytics.
- QA and vet all analyses and communicate insights and recommendations.
- Set up and report A/B tests by segment for the personalized campaigns.
- Drive development of new reports and enhancements to existing reports in Tableau. Continually work to automate existing manual reporting processes through Tableau.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
- Familiarity with ad tech (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Ad Manager, Google Campaign Manager, Ads manager, Liveramp).
- Experience in retail media analytics preferred. Understanding of the objectives and success metrics in retail media, and ability to apply that knowledge to analysis and recommendations (to frame application).
- We encourage candidates with either a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply.
- High proficiency with SQL and its variations among popular databases.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
- Strong experience working with large data sets, web analytical tools and programming (SQL, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, IBM Analytics, etc).
