Job Description

Purpose of Division:

The NeighborWorks Training Division (Training) aims to build the capacity of organizations across the community development field through the development and provision of essential tools, learning and services. The Training Division offers professional development for non-profit staff, boards, and resident leaders across a variety of platforms including in person Training Institutes, Community Leadership Institutes, place-based local training, and online training. The Division trains more than 12,000 individuals from more than 3,400 nonprofits and municipalities each year.


Position Summary:

Reporting to the SVP, Training, the Senior Coordinator, Training is responsible for the day-to-day administrative, executive and professional support for all functional areas within the Training division. Functional areas include: Curriculum Design &Production, In Person & Online Delivery, Customer Response, Meeting Services, Registration & Payments, Financial Services, Marketing and Evaluation. The Sr. Coordinator, Training must also have the demonstrated ability to deal with highly confidential information and act as a liaison between the Training Division and other constituencies, both internal and external. This role offers strategic support to ensure that the division is operating most optimally in terms of productivity and effectiveness.


This role requires outstanding planning, time management, and organizational skills. Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple requests is critical. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism when interacting with constituencies is imperative. This is a dynamic role where efficiency and exceptional client service is prized; and a high degree of business acumen and emotional intelligence is expected.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates and provides administrative support for the SVP, Training and Training division.

2. Organize and facilitate key division priorities. Strategically respond to and prioritize the high-volume demand for the SVP, Training’s time, travel and expenses, ensuring that they focus on the most impactful areas to drive division growth and impact. Recommend ways to optimize the way work groups function in and across the division.

3. Prepare and distribute critical reports and documents for network organizations, for Senior Management and across all Divisions; includes document and report production, proofing, copy editing, data entry and managing the documents process and deadlines.

4. Track and manage timelines for critical reports, documents and related correspondence to ensure multiple and ongoing due dates (both internal due dates and corporate dues dates) are met within various tracking systems.

5. Schedule and participate in meetings and conference calls with the Division team members for input into coordinating the Division’s administrative procedures for clarity and uniformity on a divisional level.

6. Prepare, edit and distribute internal and external communications, both written and spoken. Draft and oversee external communications, as necessary.
7.Prepare executive presentations and correspondence ensuring that all internal and external messaging aligns with division goals and represents the voice and vision of the SVP Training.

8.May support the monitoring of expenditures within budgetary accounts. May include preparation and submittal of related expenses & vouchers as required.

9. May assist with the management of equipment and supply needs.

10. Support the SVP, Training in reinforcing an equitable and inclusive culture of care, transparency, trust, and collaboration where all employees feel welcomed, appreciated, and have equal access to opportunity.


Nature of Work Contacts:

NeighborWorks staff, field operations and managers of other divisions to coordinate activities, exchange information for reports and provide directives on behalf of the SVP. Staff of NeighborWorks organizations, funders, vendors, strategic partners, universities, and government officials.



Fiscal Responsibilities:

Procurement responsibilities related to operations of the SVP, Training’s office.
