Job Summary
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Administrative Coordinator II to contribute to the diversity and excellence of our department and to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations. Our vision is to cultivate a diverse and inclusive environment that guides and transforms our approaches to healthcare, education, research and community partnerships. We believe that the innovation, collaboration, and rigor that result from diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our mission of eliminating health disparities and translating the best evidence to the community.
Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS’s vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underrepresented populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Administrative Coordinator II role will be responsible for all administrative support for the Director and Executive Director. This position will also provide support to CCTS staff as needed. The position requires majority of work to be completed on campus, but some remote work time is possible.
Responsibilities for this position include coordinating meetings logistics, often of a complex nature, assembling travel agendas and trip reports, providing first point of contact customer service for the CCTS and taking meeting minutes, which can be of a confidential nature. Additionally, this position will support the administrative operations of the Center and play a key role in Leadership team communications. This position will serve as the main point of contact for gathering and coordinating information for dissemination to CCTS staff through weekly email updates. Lastly, this position will be coordinating the efforts of all CCTS travel for affiliated employees to ensure prompt payments.
Successful candidates will possess excellent customer service, organizational, and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize projects and maintain accuracy. The CCTS is committed to diversifying our staff and faculty. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
