Job Description

Pet Supermarket is seeking a passionate Site Merchant Manager to Merchandise our online site with appropriate products according to the company needs and goals. The Site Merchant Manager will design and plan the location of products on the site to increase visibility and support a user-friendly design for our customers. Our Site Merchant Interfaces with key stakeholders on a regular basis to maintain accuracy of products and content. This position will require someone who can work collaboratively, is self-motivated and has exceptional communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Site Merchant Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:


  • Review, support and execute eCommerce Merchandising goals to support new product launches on the website as well as recommend in-season strategies to drive daily sales and conversion.
  • Own the end-to-end implementation of all new product launches, eComm only bundles, promotions and SKU changes
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising team to execute seasonal and in-year buys that align with the year’s inventory target.
  • Analyze and optimize a customer focused website navigation based on assortment, best-selling categories and content needs.
  • Work with Marketing and Creative teams to develop creative assets needed for new product launches, strategic initiatives, and storefront refreshes for our flagship site.
  • Recommend and execute the exit strategy for skus, including Sale, Clearance and end-of-life cleanup.
  • Track eComm KPIs, performance insights and ensure timely reporting and review of metrics to team on a regular basis
  • Prepare site for new assortment launches and update seasonal/specialty content areas.
  • Collaborates with other team members to identify areas of improvement to increase customer engagement and retention.
  • Regularly merchandise assortment according to best sellers, seasonality, product focuses, and promotions.
  • May conduct testing on site to ensure that products are listed correctly and optimally.
  • Participates in marketing and merchandising meetings and reports relevant updates to merchandising programs and metrics. Tracks relevant information regarding sales and implements proper adjustments to merchandise strategy in accordance with financial and organizational goals.
  • Works closely with web designers to implement site improvement solutions. Provide a modern eCommerce experience for customers through thoughtful merchandise presentations, intuitive product navigation, and informative product detail pages.

Experience, Education, Certifications


  • Understanding of retail sales planning and inventory management
  • Exceptional collaboration, influencing, relationship building and facilitation skills.
  • BA or BS degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with retail/merchandising concepts (visual merchandising, assortment planning, etc.)
  • Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • 1+ years previous experience in eCommerce site operations and/or site merchandising.
  • Experience with eCommerce and cloud computing
  • Understanding of website metrics with an aptitude for data-driven recommendations.
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Experience
  • Strong project management skills with ability to multi-task while being detail-oriented.
