The Role
The Senior Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for setting strategy and driving results through teams for Lumen’s architecture, application, hardware, software, microservices and Professional Services. We are looking for a leader that will be a disruptor to our current teams as we continue our transformation journey. You will be responsible for developing and executing technology strategies that support Lumen’s Product & IT business strategy and objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining technology operations in alignment with business expectations. The Main Responsibilities
- Overseeing and monitoring product and engineering teams' execution, alignment and communication with other departments, and tracking progress toward the launch milestones.
- Overseeing the evaluation, development, and deployment of all products.
- Defining and coordinating product design, maintenance, and improvements functions to ensure the product resonates with user needs and maximizes user adoption.
- Creating department structure and processes based on best practices and industry standards.
- Establishing and monitoring metrics and quality measures throughout the product life cycle.
- Identifying product feature gaps in the product framework and discovering innovative solutions to fill such gaps.
- Ensuring that all software solutions are developed efficiently and securely.
- Developing and operationalizing a forward-thinking product and technology strategy that promotes our vision, ethos and long-term objectives.
- Working in partnership with the executive team to foster a culture of pushing boundaries, transparency, accountability, and rallying around successes.
- Assessing risks and dependencies across all the product and IT engineering functions, including identifying deviations from company vision or launch strategy, anticipating bottlenecks, exploring contingencies, and providing escalation to the executive team throughout the product launch cycle.
- Be a subject matter expert in the areas of IT Architecture, Software Development, and Microservices.
- Responsible for leading our Professional Services branch of leaders.

- 12+ years relevant experience in related fields and minimum 5 years of management experience.
- High degree of adaptability.
- Strong executive presence, presentation skills and negotiation skills aimed at driving business outcomes.
- MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and distill large amounts of information to set and deliver strategy.
- Demonstrated success in developing teams and creating high function organizations.
- Experience working for a publicly held, US-owned, global corporation preferred.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
