Senior Scientist Jobs

HD Biosciences, Inc. (San Diego), a WuXi AppTec Company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist to lead/support our Neurology team of in vivo pharmacology team for various projects.
Responsibilities

• Responsible for the evaluation of various drug treatments in rodents using behavioral assessment.
• Provides scientific leadership by proactively advising, sharing knowledge and expert opinions across functions.
• Write and review SOPs.
• Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external clients to promote a world-class service.
• Lead a team of scientists within the in vivo Pharmacology Department.
• Lead troubleshooting and problem solving to ensure successful delivery of client’s projects.
• Participates in drafting quotations.
• Applies experience and expertise of preclinical development of new drugs to guide study design.
• Develop, implement, optimize, and validate animal models in different disease areas, when needed.
• Develop animal models for the drug evaluation in various CNS related diseases.
• Perform and oversee complex in vivo pharmacology experiments in various disease models.
• Establishes scientific standards and new initiatives.
• Schedule studies, review protocols, data and reports

Qualifications

• Work experience in CRO or in a commercial setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to guide groups through corporate change and growth.
• Must be detail-oriented, have strategic planning skills and capability to multi-task, ensuring that all tactical details are managed efficiently and effectively.
• Excellent oral and written commutation skills and presentation ability.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to seamlessly fit within a teamwork and driven environment.
• Experience with in vitro and in vivo pharmacology studies, e.g. sterile cell culture techniques, and rodent handling experience (animal dosing, blood/tissue collection, etc.) in academic or industry laboratory environment
• PhD with 5-7 years of experience in Neurosciences, or CNS related diseases.
• Strong knowledge in Neuroscience, immunology, pharmacology, and related fields.
• Interactive and collaborative approach; expert influence and conflict resolution skills are preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Detail-oriented
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and other software/websites for primer design, sequencing analysis, and data graphing.

• Excellent organization and record-keeping skills
• Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in software/websites for data analysis and graphing.
• Ability to multitask across several research areas/projects.
• Expertise in animal research

Anticipated base pay range: $97,410 to $126,480.
