Deciduous Therapeutics is an early stage, venture-backed biotech company based in San Francisco, California developing novel therapies that activate the endogenous immune biology responsible for treating senescence in age-related diseases.
We are looking for a highly ambitious and talented Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to join our central nervous system research team and play a critical role in our research and drug discovery efforts.You will have the opportunity to be an early team member and generate key experimental data for highly intersectional studies with a focus on neurological disorders. Key Responsibilities and Job Functions
- Neuroimmune cell in-vitro and in-vivo functional and molecular studies (surface marker expression, migration, cellular cytotoxicity, cytokine secretion) using multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, Luminex, Immunoblotting, Immunofluorescence and qPCR
- Systemic biomarker collection and analysis, including cardiometabolic, renal and hepatic function
- Conduct in-vivo experiments in support of novel target validation, engagement & optimization including PK-TE, PK-PD, and functional efficacy endpoints
- Analyze workflows and assay performance to increase efficiency and maintain scientific rigor
- Assist with vetting appropriate CROs and play a key role in study design and monitoring execution
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with multiple methods of tissue culture, processing, and analytical analysis (flow cytometry, ELISA, Immunoblotting, qPCR, Immunofluorescence)
- B.S. or M.S. in relevant discipline with 3-7 years of industry experience (neuroscience or metabolic background is preferred)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, energetic and well-suited to adapt to and shape a dynamic environment
- Experience developing and executing rodent disease model studies (IACUC submission, study design and execution, data analysis and presentation, data archiving)
- Familiarity with or direct animal behavioral experience including motor function, spatial learning and memory, and anxiety
- Technically proficient with a track record in many aspects of in vivo rodent research (dosing routes, anesthesia, necropsy, tissue processing, etc).
