Job Description
The Data and Analytics team is focused on creating competitive advantage for Synthego through data infrastructure, metrics, insights and data services. The work helps inform decisions and direction for our business while also impacting our products and operations through insight and automation.


As a member of the team, your core responsibilities in this role will be to work with department leads to identify metrics, create reports, understand large data sets, derive insights that get acted on to improve the business, build/maintain internal systems for analysis and help monitor core company performance metrics. In this role, your work will broadly influence the company's products, operations, commercial activities, and data consumers. We are looking for a candidate with a knowledge of SQL and a passion for data science and impact.


Onsite expectation for this role: minimum of once per week.


What You'll Do


  • Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our company.
  • Actively maintain the integrity and performance of analytics systems
  • Partner with other business areas to perform data mining, statistical analysis, validation, and data visualization from a variety of sources to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide advice and education in the usage and interpretation of data to business users.
  • Develop new insights and analyses that inform decisions or plans


About You


  • Proficiency with reporting tools like Tableau, Looker, Periscope, Microstrategy etc. Tableau experience is a strong plus
  • Good communication. Ability to partner with other teams to envision and execute on projects together.
  • Excellent SQL skills: experience querying large, complex data sets
  • Experience with scalable relational databases (eg Snowflake/Vertica//Redshift/…). Snowflake experience is a plus
  • B.S. or B.A. in math, economics, engineering or other technical field preferred; advanced degrees a plus
  • Ability to execute research projects, and generate practical results and recommendations
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience including applying analytics to scientific, sales, marketing, product, operations and/or financial data


Nice to Have


  • Background in biology (molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics) is a plus.
  • Strong background in statistics is a plus (experience with Python including NumPy, Pandas and Scikit-learn data libraries, SAS, SPSS, R, Stata or similar)
  • Advanced degree MA/MS or PhD in statistics, machine learning, economics, engineering or other technical field

$122,000 - $150,000 a year


Range encompasses mid to senior level and dependent on experience.
