Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Research Coordinator.
In this role, the Senior Research Coordinator will be responsible for leading the communications strategy and policy analysis for the SocioEconomic Evaluation of Dietary Decisions (SEED) Program in the Department of Population Health. The successful candidate will oversee the communications portfolio and social media management for the program while ensuring the results of new communication and outreach strategies are regularly assessed. The Senior Research Coordinator will also conduct industry and policy analyses related to food policy, food marketing, corporate behavior, health disparities and technology to inform research and advocacy strategies. She/he/they will coordinate the monthly seminar series and give presentations to academic partners, community organizations, policy groups, etc. The Senior Research Coordinator will assist with the submission of grant applications by drafting/editing manuscripts, funding proposals, reports, and communications to foundations and donors as needed. This role provides guidance to support staff and interns.
Job Responsibilities:
Communications & Social Media
- Facilitate contact between the appropriate SeedProgram team members and/or NYU Grossman School of Medicine and other NYU entities.
- Create and manage a multi-channel digital outreach strategy by managing SEED social media accounts, web content and search engine optimization. Analyze and assess the results of implemented strategies.
- Supervises office staff and students on related tasks as needed.
- Provide editorial and graphic design support for all external SeedProgram communication (including Powerpoints or other visual presentations).
- Regularly consult with SeedProgram collaborators to stay informed about news and updates (research projects, initiatives and awards) and strategize on ways to share information with the SeedProgram audience and community partners. Track and archive all news and updates as needed.
- Increase the national and global visibility of the SeedProgram by developing and managing a communications portfolio that includes creating and disseminating to stakeholders: press releases, infographics, policy briefs, case studies, newsletters, and promotional materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Public Policy
- Conduct industry and policy-related research on a range of topics such as food policy, food marketing, corporate behavior, health disparities and technology, to incorporate current trends into research and analysis.
- Assist with drafting testimonies and other relevant presentations.
- Identify and track relevant policy at the city, state, federal and global level. Identify opportunities for members of the SeedProgram to testify on public policies.
- Support the SeedProgram’s advocacy efforts by attending hearings, policy discussions, and possibly meetings with elected officials.
Outreach & Events
- Coordinate the monthly SeedProgram seminar series to build relationships and increase collaboration with investigators across NYU and other institutions.
- Give talks at community organizations, schools, local policy meetings, etc. to identify and build new partnerships.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of SeedProgram events from conception to completion.
Other
- Occasionally support SeedProgram team members in the writing/editing of grant applications, manuscripts, funding proposals, reports, and communications to foundations and donors as needed.
- Supervises office staff and students on related tasks as needed.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related discipline. Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience coordinating clinical/research trials studies. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Ability to work and make decisions independently. Time management skills and ability to multi task. Strong understanding and knowledge base of coordination requirements associated with clinical/research trials. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred. Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods. Proficiency in web content development methodology and analytics software. Excited to learn about and engage stakeholders across multiple generations (Millennials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha, etc) across multiple channels and contexts. Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $59,950.00 - $82,674.55 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
