POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an ambitious, curious, and detail-oriented (Senior) Research Associate scientist to join Aethon’s growing team. Working closely with our other R&D scientists, you will help drive drug discovery and development efforts by designing and conducting experiments.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with, and learn from, multidisciplinary teams in a small, fast-paced biotechnology company. The successful candidate is able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and is accustomed to delivering high-quality data on a timeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the optimization and implementation of cell culture-based assays including cell killing and T cell activation assays.
• Communicate experimental plans and results to the leadership team.
• Oversee reagent inventory and organization.
• Independently grow and maintain multiple mammalian cell lines.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of procedures and results in electronic lab notebook.
• Assist with flow cytometry-based analysis of mammalian cells.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency with standard statistical analyses and data plotting (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism).
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in immunology, biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related field.
• Self-motivation and adaptability to evolving project priorities and responsibilities.
• 1-3 years of industry experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company or full-time academic lab experience.
• Expertise with standard mammalian cell culture techniques (thawing, culturing, freezing cell lines). Experience with transfection and/or viral transduction is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with standard molecular and biochemical laboratory techniques, especially multi-color flow cytometry, Incucyte analysis, and ELISAs.
• Experience or familiarity with immune cell assays, T cell immunology, and/or cancer biology is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share scientific findings.
• Team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
• Passion for working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges.
