Job Description

The Sr. People Operations Specialist plays a critical role in executing strategy across all recruitment, hiring, and staffing functions for Steve & Kate’s Camp, an innovative, kid-centric camp provider with more than 50 locations nationwide. They report directly to the People Operations Manager and will have primary responsibility for implementing data-driven recruitment strategies; administering hiring processes, systems and workflows; supporting field Directors in their local hiring activities; and overseeing employee engagement and retention initiatives. Through this work, they will help Steve & Kate’s build and retain dynamic and diverse seasonal teams to deliver its rapidly expanding programs, while also ensuring compliant and profitable outcomes.

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Administer and support hiring managers in using company's Applicant Tracking System (JazzHR) and Employee of Record solution (Headway)
  • Maintain recruiting and hiring training resources for field managers to ensure compliance with HR best practices and to minimize bias in hiring
  • Responsible for all pre-hire onboarding activities and ensuring compliance with Bright Horizons policy and any applicable local requirements
  • Work with People Ops Manager and camp program team to plan out camp team roles, responsibilities, headcount, daily schedule and wage spend, and maintain supporting resources and tools
  • Supports hiring manager in onboarding process
  • Help implement staff engagement initiatives as defined by the People Ops Manager to drive retention
  • Manage relationships and invoicing for third-party temporary staffing agencies used to secure on-demand staff at camps
  • Help develop camp mentorship program to build a pipeline of former campers interested in become camp Counselors
  • Provide recruitment, hiring and budget reporting and analysis for over 1,000 temporary hires
  • Manage recruitment budget and job postings across all online job boards and social media sites, and optimize results through performance analysis; research new centralized recruitment strategies and platforms to reach qualified and diverse applicants

What we hope you'll bring to this role:

  • Proficient with Google Sheets (or Microsoft Excel) and the Google Suite of applications; ATS, Payroll and/or HRIS application experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • 1+ years in Project Management is preferred
  • Comfortable and responsible in working remotely
  • 3 years of recruiting, hiring and/or HR
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High School diploma or GED required (Bachelors Degree strongly preferred)

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$75,000.
