Senior Manager, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis

The role reports to the Director, Connected Value Creation & Insights and is based in Chicago. The role, highly demanding, process-driven and data focused, will require active interaction with the FP&A community across GBUs and Divisions, Corporate, as well as with various stakeholders (FP&A Heads, Corporate functions, Financial and Digital Technology experts) and with senior Finance management.

A key requirement of the role is to bring strong functional FP&A expertise to develop and accelerate the foundational elements of Corporate FP&A and to deliver a roadmap to further develop the function within Mars.

This role will work closely with Digital Technology, Corporate FP&A Digital Planning Team, and FP&A leaders throughout the organization to ensure that the implementation and design of our planning solutions are as efficient and agile as required to meet short and long-term needs.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven FP&A experience ideally in Corporate or Regional settings, ideally in consumer-packaged goods.
• Minimum of 8+ years of business planning and forecasting experience.
• Solid financial working knowledge and business acumen
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong communication, partnering, and communication skills.
• CPA or MBA preferred.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Introduce enhancements to the IVCP/TSR/AEP planning instances by partnering with Digital Technologies and the Corporate FP&A Digital Planning Team.
• Lead the implementation of a standard planning framework and of planning & reporting best practices across GBUs/divisions.
• Co-create the Anaplan roadmap that illustrates the evolution and timing of how we will transition from current state to future state.
• Co-lead the development of an integrated planning ecosystem by connecting and maximizing the benefits of existing and future tools: Anaplan, reporting tools (Helios, FIS), digital tools (BPS and Predictive Analysis), and the development of efficient visualization of planning outputs (PowerBI).
• Lead the execution of Mars Strategic Planning process (Rhythm of Performance) by coordinating, with the support of the Director, Connected Value Creation Planning, a range of financial planning / forecasting processes including YEE, AEP, IVCP, TSR. Deliver a consolidated, timely and accurate financial submission of GBUs/Division and Mars, Inc. plans and forecasts.
• Co-own the business and user experience requirements for the Anaplan models and resulting visualizations; to be created in close collaboration with Digital professionals. This includes co-leading the origination and interpretation of business requirements (planning and forecast) into Anaplan and other planning solutions.
• Support the integrated planning data framework (P&L account, entity, product, value creation drivers) that enables seamless planning integration within the planning ecosystem (IVCP, AEP, Forecast, Performance Review, FAA, IVCP and TSR).
• Participate in the dialogue with the Corporate FP&A Digital Planning Team to ensure planning tools are launched effectively, enabling business dialog focused on critical success activities.
• Develop an efficient and consistent approach to financial planning across GBUs/Divisions, while considering the specificities of the different businesses at Mars.
