Job Description
The MMBSI Finance team, in partnership with business managers, strategy and other finance teams, leads the business and financial analytics for MMBSI and each of its segments and industries. In addition, the team provides analyses that lead to public disclosure associated with the business' strategy, financial performance, and industry trends for the Firm's presentations at Investor Day and industry conferences.


The Associate will be an integral member of MMBSI Finance team. The individual will be responsible for running business and financial analytics and reporting for senior members of the MMBSI sub line of business. This role is expected to create, maintain and review financial models and analyses (both recurring and ad-hoc) and conduct \"deep dive\" analyses on key issues impacting clients to determine root cause and propose solutions.


Key Responsibilities


The Associate will be an integral member of MMBSI Finance team:


  • Maintain and review financial models and analyses (both recurring and ad-hoc) and c onduct \"deep dive\" analyses on key issues impacting clients/business to determine root cause and propose solutions
  • Partner with Business Management and Analytics and Reporting teams to develop insightful reporting, focusing on drivers, and the "so what, now what?" dialogue
  • The Associate will also have exposure to senior management and the opportunity to drive value-add change by helping to simplify processes, accelerate automation, and enhance analytics and business support
  • Assist with the dialogue with senior business leadership as well as stakeholders across the Commercial Bank to provide information and prepare presentation materials on the business trends, financial performance, market strategy, competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Development, consolidation and presentation of insightful and robust qualitative and quantitative financial analysis for key internal clients including senior management; participate and support ad-hoc special projects and requests as needed


Qualifications


  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting and corporate finance with at least 3 to 5 years of experience; Management Consulting, Corporate Finance and/or Accounting experience preferred
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data, summarize key concepts and articulate appropriately
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues
  • Understands a Bank's balance sheet and P&L
  • Experience in corporate financial analytics / understanding of key drivers
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Prior Essbase experience preferred
  • Proactive and have a sense of urgency, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and project management skills with a proven track record of execution against deliverables; strategic thinker
  • Excellent oral & written communication and relationship management skills
  • The candidate must be a self-starter and seeks to break the status-quo and initiate improvements where necessary
  • Strong work ethic; work well in a fast-paced environment
