About the position:
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play a crucial role in driving the financial performance of our organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the successful candidate will oversee and manage all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Provide guidance and support in the creation of departmental budgets, ensuring accuracy, reasonableness, and adherence to financial targets.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as necessary to achieve financial objectives.
- Develop and lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial objectives with the company's strategic goals.
Forecasting and Performance Analysis:
- Collaborate with operational leaders to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that measure and evaluate business performance.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to drive informed decision-making.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial forecasts, including revenue, expenses, and cash flow projections.
Financial Reporting and Presentations:
- Produce timely and insightful financial reports for executive management, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and analysis to senior management and provide strategic recommendations based on findings.
Business Partnering:
- Support cross-functional teams in evaluating new business opportunities, investment decisions, and cost optimization strategies.
- Partner with department heads and business leaders to provide financial guidance and support on key initiatives and projects.
Process Improvement and Systems Enhancement:
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to enhance financial planning tools and systems to meet evolving business needs.
- Continuously improve financial planning and analysis processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, preferably within the pet health and wellness industry or related consumer goods industry.
- Experience with financial planning and ERP systems Netsuite is advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team of financial analysts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools, and MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate financial data into actionable insights.
