Position: Sr Data Analyst
Duration: Full-Time
Location: USA(Remote)
Learning Analytics will support an organization that is passionate about building effective learning solutions and keen on using data-powered strategies to optimize impact. The person in this role will help execute our roadmap to build Learning Analytics capabilities, lead efforts in data collection, analysis, and insight delivery to our teams and stakeholders, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement through analytics.
Specifically, the Sr Data Analyst – Learning Analytics will:
- Monitor the usage of our insight delivery products, and support their maintenance and enhancements as needs evolve [e.g. dashboards, scorecards, impact stories]
- Scope out the level of analytics efforts required in a request or identified need, and engage the appropriate partners/teams in the solution
- Validate the quality of the Learning Analytics team’s output [e.g. reports, analysis, dashboards, stories] with a focus on accuracy, credibility, usability, and relevance
- Help advance the maturity of our analytics capabilities, from functional to optimized, diagnostic to predictive where useful
- Work consultatively with our internal customers, and collaboratively with our partners in data analytics; Help drive the completion of projects we own that require working with our cross-functional partners
- Support the team’s mission to tell the story of learning impact by leading learning analytics efforts from end to end: from data exploration, and mining, to prep, analysis, visualization, and credible delivery of insights in digestible formats attuned to various learning data consumers needs
- Conduct case studies/analyses – proactively surface significant findings and make appropriate recommendations
- Help lead data governance efforts to ensure the integrity of our data, and manage the accessibility and consistency of our output: building our data dictionary, calibrating with the cross-functional teams we work with [e.g. other data analysts, data engineers], and establishing standards, guidelines, and process controls from data input to output
- Understand our various stakeholders’ needs as data consumers, whether for learning impact or operational metrics – and contribute to process improvement efforts in streamlining our service cycle from intake to delivery
- Lead insight delivery strategies; Design data visualization and dynamic insight delivery in scalable formats appropriate to the use case and user needs [e.g. dashboards, impact stories, infographics, decks, reports, etc]
Ideally, the Sr Data Analyst in Learning Analytics:
- Is an advocate of ethical data handling, and understands data privacy
- Has experience or a basic understanding of learning analytics technology and concepts [e.g. xAPI, LRS, LMS, LAP, LXP]
- Has a natural curiosity for insights and stories in data, and enjoys solving business problems with analytics
- Has strong proficiency in analytics technology, processes, and tools [e.g. spreadsheets, BI, data ecosystems and infrastructure, statistics, data analysis] and visual communication tools [Prezi / Infogram, Powerpoint]
- Is an astute analyst who can surface actionable and relevant insights from large data sets, and an amazing visual storyteller
- Has some experience in predictive modeling
- Is proactive and self-directed, with functional product/project management skills
- Has at least 5 years of experience in analytics for learning/talent development / HR, operational research, business support operations, or similar environments
