Senior Financial Analyst - Aegon Am

Position Overview: As part of the Finance Global Business Control team, the position will perform financial reporting and analysis functions with an understanding of accounting principles. Responsible for applying financial analysis knowledge and judgment to activities that are diverse and complex.
Responsibilities:

• Works effectively with other global departments to ensure business issues are resolved for the success of the company.
• Resolves appropriate methodology to prepare information for use by others.
• Participates on project teams or leads project teams.
• Extracts financial data from various accounting and information systems (Tagetik) to perform appropriate analyses.
• Possesses and applies broad knowledge of concepts and principles or exhibits technical expertise in a specific area; works with minimal instruction or guidance with appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decisions; performs moderately difficult assignments with diverse scope and complexity, requiring a great deal of originality, creativity and problem solving with initiative and independent judgment required.
• Uses a thorough understanding of the business to proactively develop financial reports and sophisticated models for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
• Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
• Supports financial analysis of company’s critical initiatives.
• Analyzes data and defines relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial result.
• Interprets financial transactions and events for users and may offer recommendations to those making economic or business decisions.
• Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities and accountable for target dates and quality of work.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years experience, with degree.
• Advanced computer skills.

• Highly developed analytical, problem recognition and resolution, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Work effectively individually and within a team.
• Ability to independently prioritize and work on numerous projects and assignments simultaneously.
• Customer service approach.
• Experience the asset management industry.
• Ability to reliably communicate orally and in writing.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel.
