Job Description
At ReCor Medical, we are pioneering Ultrasound Renal Denervation (uRDN) therapy to treat hypertension, the leading cardiovascular risk factor in the world. Position Summary

The Senior Director Communications will own executive, internal and external communications, and public relations for ReCor and will report to the Vice President of Marketing. This person will lead and direct the activities of a Marketing Communications team in the execution of global communications, as well as global congresses and events.

This person will have a strong understanding of key external stakeholders in the medical device/life sciences industry (investment community, industry partners, media, etc.) and channels (press, social media, print, digital) to enhance the perception and expand the visibility of ReCor. Responsibilities include management of corporate communications and developing and advancing media and public relations in new markets, telling our story, establishing our position and driving thought leadership.

The person in this role will also have oversight of all corporate event and global scientific congress and oversee the team in charge of planning and execution, inclusive of coordination across multiple departments (sales, HR, clinical, executive team, investor relations, etc.), to ensure event or meeting presence supports ReCor’s scientific and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated global communications plan for patients, physicians and providers, in support of ReCor’s overall communication strategy
  • Develop and deliver a company-wide internal communication plan inclusive of global engagement campaigns and ongoing awareness and education of company programs, advancing culture and talent initiatives to encourage and increase engagement and retention
  • Communications
  • Guide communications around the introduction of new products, publication of major articles, and presentation of milestone data
  • Partner closely with parent company Investor Relations to strategically communicate priorities and achievements with investor and analyst communities
  • Execution of a global social media strategy including platform prioritization, and growth initiatives across owned and paid social channels in alignment with our overall communication goals
  • Establish and execute global content calendar, spanning across earned and paid media and social media channels.
  • Ensure internal legal, regulatory and medical review of content and materials. Ensure events are delivered within budget
  • Oversee agency relationships to ensure strongest partners are identified for all communications and event needs
  • Events
  • Work with clinical development and regulatory to own support for international investigator meetings as needed, including logistics and compliance support
  • Oversee execution of global marketing communications programs, congresses and events to meet established marketing objectives
  • Create a comprehensive communications strategy for ReCor that aligns with business objectives and key milestones
  • Manage media inquiries and press releases, executive media training, media responses, and serve as the on-call spokesperson for issues management and crisis communications. Partner with Legal and Regulatory teams to manage issues as needed

Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful, independent public relations/communications, corporate communication, science communication, product communication, public affairs, and/or media relations achievements
  • Exceptional attention to detail with superior writing and presentation development skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and budgets at the same time
  • Deep understanding of media and business analytics, traditional media, digital and social platforms and strong experience with national and local lay, professional/trade and social media
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep, authentic, successful relationships with top executives and clinicians and strong influence with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Minimum Of Ten (10) Years Of Experience Managing Communication in a company, NGO, Government Agency Or Public Relations Agency
  • Experience planning meetings, including logistics management of major events within and outside of the United States (congresses, investigator meetings, etc.)
  • Experience working in communications in medical device industry
  • Self-motivated individual; ability to develop recommendations with imperfect information (comfortable with ambiguity and with building new ways of executing)
