Senior Claims Adjuster - Bodily Injury

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for automobile accidents. Applies analytical thinking to determine coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates bodily injury claims within given limit of authority.

• Determines subrogation or fraud potential
• Knowledge and execute on reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating injury claims
• Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understands other potential property damage
• Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
• Handles investigation regarding all aspects of auto claims (coverage, liability and injury damages) within given authority.
• Direct defense counsel to insure proper defense of our insureds
• Resolve simple to complex bodily injury claims by evaluating medical bills, medical records and accident details to help determine appropriate settlement ranges
• Handle injury claims from start to finish including lawsuits, mediation and/or arbitration.
• Hire proper experts to assist in gathering information to make informed decisions on liability, causation and mechanism of alleged injuries
• Applies basic understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department

• Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes and ICD 10
• Proficient in Word and Outlook
• Claims license required in handling states where the license is required by law
• Problem solving and analytical skills; ability to detect differences and issue recognition from multiple sources
• Time management skills
• Customer service orientation
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of related bodily injury experience
• Claims litigation experience
