Then, we need you as a Home Claims Adjuster.


Founded in 2002 and headquartered in CO, American Auto Shield specializes in 3rd party administration, providing nationwide coverage and claims services for vehicle and home service contracts offered through dealers, agents, direct marketers, membership organizations and lenders.

The Home Claims Adjuster position is the key service contact for customers filing claims on the various home service contracts administered by the company. This position is also responsible for providing complete and sound claim approvals, according to various written contracts, and being able to clearly explain contract terms.

Our Home Claims Adjuster position earns a competitive pay rate starting at $19.00*

Responsibilities:
What will you do in this role?
You will…
  • Review all technical issues for accuracy of diagnosis, repairs, and proper repair procedures
  • Purchase outside parts/replacement product, when necessary, in order to keep claims cost in line
  • Review claims for proper diagnosis and determine appropriate coverage
  • Perform investigation of unusual claims as requested by management by talking to customers, home service providers or any other involved parties
  • Knowledgeable of home appliances and systems, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC to ensure proper administration and handling
  • Claims handling, including gathering of labor time and cost, parts costs, enter information into system, set-up claim in system with notes, reasons for approval/denial; monitor claims through completion
Qualifications:
What You Need to Join Our Team
  • A minimum of 2 years of Claims and customer service experience and/or training is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and coverage pages.
  • Ability to administrate claims in a call center environment working at a steady pace with accuracy while maintaining efficiency throughout the claims process
  • Must work with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, flexible and enjoy working with others
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external team members
  • Basic skills; Microsoft Suite, Internet Software, Contract Management Systems
  • Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of home repair services preferred (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Technical adjusting knowledge)
  • Uses technical knowledge and expertise to effectively communicate and respond to questions from co-workers and customers
  • Make decisions within a clearly defined scope of job based on defined policies and procedures
  • Must be able to understand all aspects of the Home Warranty claims process and proper skill handling with customers and home services partners
