Senior Architect, People Spaces

What to Expect
Tesla is seeking to hire a couple of talented and motivated architects to lead the execution of world-class interiors and base-building projects at Tesla’s Gigafactory Campus in Austin, TX. Prospective candidates will collaborate with our Design Studio during early design and development, and then lead the architectural documentation and construction administration phases for all people spaces, workplaces, and public amenities on site. Candidates should have extensive experience with designing and delivering beautiful projects for industry leading organizations.
What You’ll Do
Ability to lead multiple projects or programs simultaneously from concept through close-out, assuming roles as design architect and/or Architect of Record depending on scope.
Manage discipline coordination with an ability to partner with cross-functional teams of Engineers, Construction Project Management, and General Contractors.
Directly and/or indirectly lead and mentor junior architectural staff, providing guidance on design detailing and design development
Present status updates, progress reports, and design presentations to executive stakeholders and end customers
Create comprehensive construction documents and handle construction administration including but not limited RFIs and Submittal
Develop creative solutions to save cost and reduce schedule timelines.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Architecture with US Architecture licensure
8+ years of professional experience working as an architect developing interior and/or base-build projects for industry leading organizations.
Workplace, Industrial, Manufacturing experience recommended.
Extensive experience in Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
Expert proficiency in Revit and all relevant 2D/3D modeling software.
Experience with project cost estimating and schedule review recommended.
