SCIENTIST I, ANALYTICAL DEVELOPMENT - VACCINE RESEARCH & ANALYTICS

OBJECTIVES
  • Create and review necessary SOPs and developmental reports.
  • Coordinate information exchange between both in-house and 3rd party vendors for testing.
  • Responsible for the design, management, execution and of analytical testing pertaining to vaccine manufacturing and formulation for vaccine products at all stages of development
  • Summarize results and conclusions in study reports and present data at internal meetings and external meetings.
Accountabilities
  • Coordinate efforts between different internal and external teams such as Process Development and Formulation.
  • Participate in collaborations with contract testing organizations (CTOs).
  • Develop drafts and implement new methods and technologies for project advancement.
  • Responsible for development, qualification, documentation, and transfer of assays.
  • Draft method development reports, SOPs, and transfer protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely data in electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Perform statistical analyses on compiled data as needed and author reports for distribution and/or presentation to project teams.
  • Assume all aspects of testing including sample cataloging, submission, analysis and collection of results.
Education, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
  • Current knowledge in vaccine literature and basic science related to vaccine development.
  • Virology knowledge (especially flavivirology) is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of statistical models for DOE, and familiarity with JMP is highly desirable.
  • PhD in scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years industry experience (may include post doctoral experience), or a MS with a minimum of 4 years industry experience, or a BS with a minimum of 6 years industry experience.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comply with Takeda safety practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Training and experience in Design of Experiments and other statistical methodologies.
  • Knowledge and skills in chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology.
  • Well organized and detail oriented, able to effectively prioritize, interact cooperatively and effectively with others in a team environment, and consistently demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of GXP is desirable.
  • Good time and project management skills, ability to oversee several projects simultaneously.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Comply with institutional certifications and requirements in a BSL-2 environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Typical office and laboratory bending, stooping, lifting requirements apply.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.).
  • Lifting and moving supplies and equipment (up to 25 pounds).
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or CMO/CRO sites, including overnight trips. International travel may be required.
  • Requires less than 5 % travel.
Location and Salary Information
Base Salary Range $81,900 to $117,000 based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
This position is currently classified as “hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy.”
