Position Summary


We are seeking a Scientist II to join the Research Innovation group at CRISPR Therapeutics. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team whose aim is to accomplish preclinical research to bring targets for our In Vivo Gene Editing Programs (including liver) to the clinic. The position requires enthusiasm, passion, attention to detail and a commitment to improve the lives of those afflicted with serious diseases.


Responsibilities


  • Discovery/Preclinical research on targets for our in vivo programs
  • Generate, manage, evaluate, and maintain critical data in a highly organized manner, providing statistical analysis and troubleshooting where appropriate.
  • Conceive, design, and perform experiments independently
  • Analyze and present experimental data to a wide range of audiences
  • Assist company in securing IP from research program discoveries, including detailed descriptions for patent filing and/or proof of concept work, as needed
  • Collaborate with and mentor Research Associates, direct the work of Research Associates as necessary
  • Dissect published literature to evaluate in vivo targets


Minimum Qualifications


  • Experience with designing studies with animal model is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a results-oriented team, highly organized with significant attention to detail.
  • Experience with protein extraction, and western blots
  • Proficiency in cell & tissue culture (cell lines; experience with hepatocyte culture is a plus), transfection,
  • PhD in Molecular Biology or another related discipline with 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Track record of intellectually challenging oneself to enhance scientific capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing
  • Extensive experience using molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, dPCR and TIDE


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience working in research for a gene editing company
