CM Life Science is partnered with an exciting startup who are developing a pipeline of oral, small-molecule RNA-targeting medicines with an initial focus on oncology and neurological disorders. The Scientist I position plays an important role in assay development for driving their projects forward.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated learning agility and success moving into and mastering new or unfamiliar areas of science
• Design and execute molecular biology and cell biology experiments to support target discovery and validation
• Responsible for data acquisition, tracking, and processing
• Highly motivated with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Design, develop, and optimize novel biochemical and cell-based assays for lead discovery and optimization
• Good documentation, organization, and communication skills

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 4+ years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with cell-based or biochemical assays is highly desirable
• Past research involving RNA biology, pre-mRNA processing, and/or RNA-protein interactions is highly desirable
• Experience in developing plate-based HTS assays and automation workflow is highly desirable
• MS degree in biology or pharmacology related discipline, or equivalent industrial experience
• Broad experience with molecular and cell biology experimental techniques (e.g. tissue culture, RT-PCR, qPCR, Western, ELISA, siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR, flow cytometry) is required
• Experience developing and validating cell based or biochemical assays to support drug discovery, especially in oncology and neuroscience is highly desirable
