Job Description
As a Sales Manager for Disney Catered Events, you are the gateway for Guests who seek a new, different, and unique experience for their special occasions. This role requires sales experience, a solution-focused mindset, and a keen knowledge of business and social networks in the local and corporate Orlando market. You will need to collaborate with partners including but not limited to the Disney Event Group, Park Operations, and Resort Operations. Of central importance is the ability to identify and articulate sales strategies to expand business and revenue opportunities along with being knowledgeable of all products and services across Walt Disney World. You are required to stay highly engaged and aware of Client needs and wants, consistently and relentlessly.


This role will report to the Director of Sales - Celebrations and Events


Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute individual sales plans against assigned vertical market
  • Maintain relationships to a multi-level client base with ongoing executive interaction
  • Accountable to ensure Walt Disney World has maximum exposure throughout our industry
  • Accountable for timely forecasting, tracking, and reporting
  • Represent TWDC with the highest level of integrity at all times
  • Actively engage in significant, prolonged conversations about the client’s business
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Excel in closing the business in a tight time frame
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the Disney Difference in the sales channels
  • Actively develop new sales initiatives with expected business growth
  • Manage contracts and credit terms and approvals
  • Achieve annual sales goals
  • Stay relevant in knowledge and proficiency of required TWDC systems and processes, stays relevant in changes in internal processes
  • Conduct site inspections, preplanning meetings and product orientations
  • Create and maintain internal relationships, using them to collaborate in decision-making, problem-solving, and sharing information with clients, peers, and partners
  • Conduct weekly in-person sales calls to a multi-level client base
  • Maintain The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) standards of safety, professional and personally
  • Develop meeting opportunities through new business solicitation, sales calls, tradeshow, and other sales activities as needed
  • Lead projects that drive assigned markets objectives


Basic Qualifications


  • Positive relationship and influencing abilities
  • Professional-level organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the local competition
  • Computer proficiency within a Windows environment (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Understanding of assigned markets and events including processes and workflows
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays. Ability to host site inspections and Client entertainment opportunities at night
  • Proven business acumen
  • Ability to client management and partnering abilities.
  • Proven professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Discover, understand, and communicate Client needs, effectively and efficiently
  • Represent the Disney brand in all internal and external client interactions.
  • Social and networking skills/cultural sensitivity/diversity.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Understanding of the Disney brand, its product offerings, and understanding of the local competitive marketplace
  • Incorporate the local Central Florida tourism culture (whether organizational or geographical) into their communication, planning, influencing, and delivery
  • Utilization of a Counselor Sales Approach
  • Developed analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to make sales presentations to multiple ranges of group size


Required Education


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience


Preferred Education


  • Master’s degree
