InSitu Foods, Inc. (InSitu) is a venture-backed manufacturer of automation solutions for the Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) industry. InSitu has created innovative equipment for the pizza industry that is already generating substantial revenue.


We exist to elevate the quality of food choices consumers have without compromising on value. Starting with the belief that freshness is key to quality food products, InSitu develops technology solutions that promote dis-economies of scale – i.e. that food is made fresh “in place” as close to the consumer as possible.

Position Description

The stage is set for an exceptional sales executive to drive revenue growth. Reporting to the CEO and Founder, the Sales Director will be the first sales professional to join the organization and will be responsible for enhancing and honing our existing sales strategy, as well as owning and executing the full life cycle sales process.


Key responsibilities / expected outcomes:

  • Broaden customer base -
  • Manage the full sales process to hit agreed upon sales targets.
  • Enhance margins through volume purchase arrangements and value-based pricing/revenue streams.
  • Reduce revenue reliance on large customers and diversify throughout industries other than pizza.
  • Maintain and develop business contacts and relationships.
  • In first year, develop strategy for direct sale, distribution partnership, rep partnership, and leasing arrangement for each product and market segment.
  • Grow sales -
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
  • Leverage engagements with 3rd party lead generation consulting firm and external chain specific sales representatives.
  • Optimize sales channels and revenue model options to access more market segments.
  • Partner with CEO to prepare annual budget and forecasts and provide reporting regularly and in preparation for board meetings.
  • Qualify customer pain points that InSitu Foods can solve through new product introduction.
  • Support, as necessary, customer service and project management functions.


Candidate Requirements

  • Willingness to travel to Toledo, Ohio office for occasional in person meetings. Must live within 200 miles of our office location.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% in support of the sales process, tradeshows, etc., some of which will be overnight.
  • Experience selling equipment into the Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) industry is required; experience selling into the pizza retail industry, bring relevant, actionable relationships is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work at the strategic level coupled with the willingness to execute day-to-day sales activities.
  • Proven track record of significantly growing revenue in a direct sales role and through distribution partners.
