About this Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) - Software Sales (SaaS), you will play a critical role in driving BerniePortal’s growth by generating new business opportunities. You will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the Account Executive team. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong drive to succeed.
Note: we are five days per week in the office and have been since May 2021. If you’re looking for an in-office role, great! We work five days per week in the office. We have a generous PTO program and offer flexibility in a lot of other ways, but not on this. We pride ourselves on our culture and our managers having the ability to really coach and help our people grow. For us, that is best done in-person. Please do not apply if what you really want is off-site work.
Compensation and Benefits
- Target compensation of $80,000

What will you do in this role?
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prospect interactions and activities in the CRM system.
- Continuously stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to effectively position BerniePortal in the market.
- Qualify leads and conduct initial conversations to understand prospects' needs, pain points, and business requirements.
- Set up and schedule qualified meetings for the sales team with key decision-makers.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team to develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings and opportunities generated.
- Educate prospects about BerniePortal's HRIS and payroll solutions, highlighting the benefits and value proposition.
- Make outbound sales calls and emails and engage prospective clients.

Ideal Candidate
- Proven track record in sales development or inside sales, preferably in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively.
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills to engage prospects and build rapport.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changes.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to achieve and exceed targets.
