About Salem Stones: Salem Stones is a rapidly growing wholesaler of granite monuments and memorials. We primarily work with retail monument shops, cemeteries, funeral homes, churches, and civic organizations offering granite monuments, memorials, mausoleums, and community columbaria, as well as sandblast name/date engraving and laser etching services. We service our customers from two warehouses: Columbus (Obetz), Ohio (headquarters) and Elberton, Georgia and have Regional Sales Managers (RSM) covering 39 states in territories throughout the Eastern coastal, Southern and Midwest regions of the country. Position Description: The Sales Development Representative is tasked with identifying and generating sales opportunities for the Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) through outbound calling activities. The right candidate will be comfortable and confident on the phone making 50-75 calls per day from a provided list to qualify leads by providing and collecting basic information that is recorded in a CRM. A successful candidate will be a self-starter who is savvy at getting past gatekeepers to make appointments for RSMs with key decision makers and will be compensated for leads and appointments that the RSMs convert into actual sales. Salem Stones will provide a company laptop, phone and necessary software.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of successful experience in outbound phones sales or telemarketing. Adept computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM applications preferred (Salesforce or similar applications).

- Set appointments and generate sales opportunities with qualified leads for RSMs.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing team member on strategic sales approach.
- Qualify leads and ask probing questions to effectively work through provided list of leads to get to a Yes or No quickly – then move on.
- Make 50+ outbound phone calls per day from a provided list to cemeteries, funeral homes, churches, civic organizations, and retail shops.
- Additional duties and support as required.
- Work additional special projects as needed.
- Log calls and record detailed notes in Freshsales CRM. Manage accounts in neat and organized manner.

- Display a basic understanding of industry terminology and talk about offered products at a high level. Training is provided – industry experience not necessary.

- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, coupled with excellent listening skills and a positive and energetic phone presence.
