Restaurant Cashier Jobs

Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Cashier Position for the 2023 Summer Season at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack Live Horse Racing season for SMG Premier Food Services, Inc. Responsible for – Performs the daily activities of the cashier function by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Include the following:

• Organizes all paperwork for cashier responsibilities including cash slips, over-ring and under-ring forms, and house charges.
• Verifies the proper items prices to the menu
• Verifies restaurant staff transactions and keeps cash register balanced.
• Maintains accurate accounting of all credit card sales on assigned location.
• Performs location worker assignments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintains accurate credit card handling procedures at all times.
• Follows all rules and regulations of Food and Beverage area.
• Monitors the proper recording of meal vouchers.

Education And/or Experience

• Restaurant experience – a plus.
• Must have basic working knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures.
• High School or GED

Skills And Abilities

• Must be able to be move between buildings and food areas and stand for long periods 2-4 hours.
• Must be able to use cash register.
• Must have sufficient math ability to accurately count and handle money.
• Must have ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work.
• Must have basic working knowledge of concession/cafeteria operation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a pleasant personality and a neat appearance.
• Must speak and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors and employees.

Computer Skills
Aloha POS systems – a plus.
Compensation
This position’s compensation is $18.36 per hour.
