The Research and Grant Administrator will serve as the managerial lead for strategic and/or restricted research initiatives, including but not limited to the Good Food Fellows Program, grant funded via the Rockefeller Foundation. The Research and Grant Administrator will have a sufficient level of science-related work experience to oversee research administration and communication activities, with a wide range of duties to ensure that the strategic research awards operate efficiently and effectively. This position has responsibility for stewarding volunteer Committees as the assigned primary staff resource, to develop and implement the direction, collaboration, and communications for working with awardees, fellows, training directors, principal investigators, and other key personnel. Additionally, this position works closely with others to develop documents such as executive summaries, reports, procedures, requests for applications (RFA) and other records as needed. Additional duties include working with PTFI and Good Food U colleagues, as well as mission advancement, program, and communications staff to develop and produce reports and other documents for research initiatives, research grant program descriptions, development of website content and other communications.

Responsibilities
- Provide write-ups for funder-required grant reports and other documents, as requested, related to Good Food U and Good Food Fellows programs.
- In conjunction with other AHA staff, contribute to the creation of content for e-Learning modules on community engaged research, leadership development, and science communication. Provide dissemination of curriculum content for the fellows.
- Oversee the peer-review and administrative processes for providing grants to PTFI Centers of Excellence for Good Food U and Good Food Fellows, including knowledge and use of Proposal Central system to track and administer the fellowships.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of research grants awarded to Good Food Fellows. Supervise and training project/program coordinator.
- Working with the Institutional Training Directors and other AHA volunteers and staff, provide mentorship and professional development guidance for Good Food Fellows.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand and use databases and spreadsheets.
- Project management experience
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Advanced skills in Micro Soft office suite of products
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to analyze, organize, order, and present data.
